Today, we focus on beard tips that are so obvious and common that they are not mentioned enough.
- Dont touch my beard
Alexa, please play, ‘Don’t touch my hair,’ by Solange Knowles.
You may like the feeling of someone running their fingers through your beard but we would caution you against it.
If you really cannot live without the sensation of this feeling, request that your beard patter has thoroughly washed their hands.
2. Be gentle with your skin
We’ve all had a good laugh about that ‘all in one’ shampoo that men use for their hair, body and even their car! We laugh at this joke but pray that you guys know better by now.
It is important to use curated beard products as they will be gentle on and beneficial to the skin under your hair.
Damage to your follicles such as scars, burns or scratches can drastically hinder your beard growth.
3. Brush your beard
Most bearded men have a comb that they use religiously. We are here for this. However, a brush is just as important as the comb.
Beard combs are great for styling and trimming.
Beard brushes are essential for spreading your products such as beard oil and beard balm into your beard and the skin underneath it.

4. Always pat dry your beard
After you wash your beard, either in the shower or over the sink, remember to pat dry once you’re done - do we need to reiterate the point of being gentle to your hair and skin?
Make sure you use a separate, dry and clean face towel for this.
If you would prefer, use a blow dry (no comb/teeth).
You could also let it air dry after putting in some beard balm and oil (tip 3 will come in handy here).
Mandevu’s got your reminders!
