For the Square
If you have a square shaped face, there are some beards that have been said to suit your face the most. These are a few of them:
- Circle Beard
- Royale Beard
- The Goatee
This is a familiar beard and a familiar name. This is because it is a very common style that very many men wear. It is a popular belief that this style suits everyone. However, that is not the case. This beard style may not look bad on different shaped faces, but it is mostly perfect for the square shaped face. This beard looks good with all hairstyles. Whether you’re bald, dreaded up, rocking a ponytail or maintaining short hair, this goatee is perfect for your square shaped face.
For the Oval
Now we take a look at the perfect beard for an oval shaped face. Those of you with such faces will be happy to know that every style works for you. Here are a few of our absolute favourites:
- Chevron beard
This is a moustache that covers the entire top lip. It is slightly different from the moustache, in that it is longer. If you’re a big fan of old western movies, then this is a look you have seen before. A normal moustache also works for this face shape.
- The 3-Day Stubble Beard
According to the dictionary, stubble is the short, stiff hair growing on a man's face when he has not shaved for a while.
This is basically a beard that isn’t grown out completely. It’s perfect for men with light hair or a man who wants to show off his defined chin. The only difference is that with mandevu, your hair will be anything but stiff!
- Horseshoe moustache
This is a moustache that extends down to the chin. It is not a look that many men like to try out. Maybe because you think it looks like something your granddad would wear, but this could look good on a younger man as you can see in this picture. Despite the colour of your skin, your oval face would make this look good!
For the Rectangle
Here are some unique beard styles for your unique face shape:
- Mutton chops
We are pretty sure that you have referred to this beard as ‘the wolverine beard’. Well, we have too. The proper term is actually the mutton chop beard. It is perfect for a rectangle shaped face. That’s why Wolverine’s cheek bones are always so perfectly defined!
- The Chin Strap
The chin strap beard, as you can tell from the name, is a beard strapped around the chin. Last week, we showed how Kenyan fitness and lifestyle consultant Shiv Simani makes this beard work. This brings out the cheekbones and dimples. It also brings out your eyes.
For the Round
Having a round face and growing a beard can be hard. This is because a round face already looks small and adding a beard to it makes it look even smaller. Here are some beard styles that can help with that:
- Anchor Beard
As the name suggests, it resembles a ship anchor. This makes the face look a little longer than it actually is. It brings out the chin and the lips, so as to take away attention from the shape of the face. It is also known as a balbo beard.
- Short Boxed Beard
This classic look is perfect for that petite face. It works best with a short boxed haircut to go right along with it.
- Van Dyke Beard
This is what we have been referring to as ‘the extended goatee’! Oops!
We have clearly learned something new, we hope you have too. What remains is that mandevu beard care is the best care throughout your beard growth process!
