BEARDED MEN RUNNING MARATHONS

BEARDED MEN RUNNING MARATHONS

As we get ready for the Standard Chartered marathon this weekend, here are some tips to help you out during the marathon.

Remember, marathon running can be tough on your beard. These remedies will curb any potential issues.

1. Stay hydrated

Drink loads of water as you train and on the day of the marathon. You should also keep your beard hydrated. Whether you’re in for the 5km or 21km, you should carry your beard oil with you.

The oil will help keep your beard moisturised which will reduce the effects of dryness from sweat and sun exposure.

Our Mandevu Beard Oil is the perfect size to carry around without any hustle.

2. Carry a clean face towel or bandana

This step is important because your beard will overheat as you run or walk. You bearded lads know this all too well. It is an uncomfortable feeling and it is also detrimental to your beard health.

Make sure the towel or bandana is clean as you do not want germs getting into your beard and the skin underneath it.

When you feel the sweat building in there, gently dab with the towel (do not rub or use force).

3. Wear a hat

This is pretty obvious and we are sure you’ve already picked one out, however, just in case you forgot, get yourself a hat and wear it throughout the day. This will protect your face, your head, your beard as well as the skin underneath it.

4. Groom

The night before the run is a good time to trim your beard. This will help get rid of pesky split ends and wild hair that could get caught in your gear and distract you from your marathon.
