GAME OF BEARDS

GAME OF BEARDS

We had to do it gang!!

Whether you were a fan of the Game of Thrones series or not, you have definitely heard of it. Our fellow fans have made every Monday a series or GoT Mondays on social media. For that, we apologize but we have to pay homage to the beautiful beards we have been seeing on our screens these past 8 years.
  1. Kit Harington (Jon Snow)
Famous for knowing nothing, wanting nothing, excellent swordsmanship, coming back to life and finding out that he is the heir to the throne…not wanting it (of course!)…then killing his queen.

Needless to say, we went through a love hate relationship with his character but we loved his beard through it all. He embodied the full beard and long hair look and for that, he is at the top of our list.

  1. Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont also known as Jorah the Andal):
This was another love-hate relationship. He started out as seeming un-loyal then he won us over by being loyal then he went through a creepy phase where we didn’t pay him much mind. He was not a big part of the show throughout the years but he got us all choked up when he died for his queen. For this reason, and for rocking the salt and pepper stubble, we give him props!

  1. Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo):
We loved his courage and strength throughout the show, but we loved his beard game the most!

Drogo showed us how to rock the long goatee and even longer hair. This look seems courageous for most but the Khal showed us how good and well-kept this look can be, even in the middle of a bloody, messy fight.

  1. Sean Bean (Eddard Stark also known as Ned Stark)
In a previous article, we spoke about how research has shown that men with beards are wiser and nobler than just any ordinary man. Ned Stark may just be the proof we need to prove this theory.

  1. Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane also known as the lover of big women and ale)
Who doesn’t love Tormund? He gave as humour to keep us going through the rollercoaster that Game of Thrones took us through.

This is a visual representation of how much a beard can change your look. If you have a square jaw, then you can see that a full beard is the best way to go. It accentuates your other features.

  1. Lucian Msamati (Salladhor Saan aka; the pirate, or the black guy from the first seasons)
Before you ask who this is, this is an honorary mention for the melanin representation in the entire series. We also have to give him some love seeing as he is of Tanzanian decent- a fellow African on the big screen!

We would have loved to show Grey Worm due to our respect and love of his loyalty and pure heart through the show but he unfortunately didn’t grow a beard throughout the series. We would have loved to see this look on the big screen!)

Mandevu’s got your beard review!
