BEARD FAQs

BEARD FAQs

We scoured the internet to find the most frequently asked questions about beard growth, beard health and all things beards.

Here is a list of questions as well as our answers to these questions:

Question 1:

Do you have to wash your beard every day?

Our Answer:

Well, this depends on what you are using to wash your beard. Warm water and a face cloth as you shower should be a daily routine, however, your beard wash should be used 1-2 times a week.

If you do not have a beard wash yet, you should invest in one. Also, check out this article for a step-by-step guide on how to use your wash - Mandevu Beard Wash

Question 2:

How long is too long?

Our Answer:

Is this for real? Too long? We don’t believe in that over here. All we advocate for is that you keep it clean and neat.

It may be too long if you can’t manage it but at the end of the day, it’s your hair, your face, you get to choose your length.

Question 3:

How can I grow my beard faster?

Our Answer:

This is apparently the most frequently asked question of all time when it comes to beard growth.

The truth is not as glamorous as most people would think. There is no easy fix (miracle growth oils = scam). The fastest way to growing your beard is eating healthy, working out, sleeping well, and making use of your beard wash, beard balm & oil, beard comb & brush.

We have multiple articles about this. If you haven’t read them yet, peruse through this blog and get yourself acquainted with the simple tips to healthy beard growth.

Question 4:

Why is my grey coming in unevenly?

Our Answer:

This is something that you can’t change. Grey hairs grow depending on your genetics. This can be fast or slow and you really have no control over this.

We recommend that you put away any dye and embrace that sexy salt and pepper look that we love so much.

Question 5:

Can I use any beard comb/brush on my beard?

Our Answer:

The truth is that you can use any comb or brush on your beard. However, you run a greater risk of ruining your hair and the skin underneath it and you shouldn’t use just any brush.

The beard comb is designed in a way that helps distribute beard balm and oil evenly for best results – get yours at Mandevu Beard Comb.

The beard brush has medium to soft bristles to stimulate the skin/pores underneath the beard hair and it also removes dead skin in turn aiding your beard growth – get yours at Mandevu Beard Brush.

Question 6:

Does beard oil work?

Our Answer:

Beard oil is not a miracle growth oil. It is a moisturizer and conditioner that is used to soften your beard and nourish the skin underneath it…and yes, it works for this. Soft hair and moisture makes the beard very manageable and easy to maintain. It also keeps beard dandruff (beardduff) at bay and keeps the hair healthy which stimulates growth.

Do not expect a full beard in a few days or weeks. Experts give it up to 13 weeks for beard hair to start growing long and evenly. Patience is the key to beard growth.

Question 7:

How can I get rid of patches?

Our Answer:

There is no cure for patches, however, you can minimize visibility by brushing against the grain to move more hair towards your patches. It is much easier to brush and style hair when you use your beard balm and beard oil religiously.

Question 8:

Can I use beard trimmers for manscaping?

Our Answer:

You can do anything your heart desires, but we would advise you not to do this. Your lower body hair and beard hair are not the same. You really don’t want the sweat from your genitals and armpits to be anywhere near your mouth.
