A MONTH BY MONTH BEARD GROWTH GUIDE

A MONTH BY MONTH BEARD GROWTH GUIDE

Growing a beard is an extreme sport. For some, it doesn’t grow fast enough. For others, it grows in all the wrong directions. For others, it grows way too much, and for a lucky few - it grows just right.

Whatever your experience, achieving a full, healthy beard is no walk in the park.

That’s why we’ve put together this month-by-month guide to help you along your beard journey. There will be hard moments, but trust us - you’ll get there.

You’re not alone.

Let’s grow…

Month 1 - The Foundation (Stubble Phase)

We won’t lie to you - this is definitely the worst stage. The beginning is always hard unless you are in a love bombing relationship. If you are in it for the long haul, you need to show your stuff upfront - this is risky but will be worthwhile with the right person.

In the same way, if you want to grow a beard, you will need to commit.

This is the part of the relationship where you start to build that real connection.

Key tips: no trimming, exfoliate once or twice a week, stay hydrated and eat foods that are high in protein.

 Month 2-4 - Shaping Begins

At this stage, expect patchiness. This is normal - do not shave or trim just yet. You are not failing - remind yourself of this constantly.

This phase can last up to a year so buckle up and enjoy the ride. It will be worth it later on.

Key tips: exfoliate at least once a week - a little warm water, a dash of your beard wash, and a clean cotton cloth, stay moisturized and hydrated - dry skin is a hindrance to growth.

Month 5 - You Should Be Filling in Now

Growing a beard is a whole lifestyle. You can’t compare month 5 guy who followed all the steps to month 5 guy who just didn't shave for a few months.

If you have been doing your best with your routine, you should be seeing some of the patches filling in.

This is still not a full beard but you should start seeing hints of one by this stage.

Key tips: This is the time to invest in your beard oil and balm and use it diligently. You can start trimming and styling which will help guide you on your preferred styles as your beard continues to grow.

Month 6-7 - Almost There

At this point, if you have been eating right, exfoliating, hydrating, exercising, and using your product, you should be seeing progress. This is the time to trim.

Yes, trim when you’re at the finish line.

Key tips: trimming will help make the patches look more filled in.

Month 8+ - Achieving the Full Beard Status

Your beard should be almost or completely filled in.

With great power comes great responsibility - this is the time to have your beard products fully stacked. You’re going to need them!

Key tips: You earned your mane, it’s time to maintain it. Beard shampoo twice a week, beard oil, balm, brush and comb everyday and a healthy balanced diet will keep your beard happy and easy to maintain.

Pro tip: Expect many ups and downs, frustration, impatience and some itchiness (all these curbed by the tips in this article).

You got this and Mandevu’s got your guide!
