BEARDCARE 101

BEARDCARE 101

Cleanse
Use a shampoo & conditioner to wash your beard. Thoroughly wash and rinse your beard well. Use shampoo first then conditioner after. Shampoo tends to make the beard hair drier and thicker
while conditioner makes it softer. Try a complete final cold rinse if you are bold enough. Cold water closes the pores and prevents dirt from entering and accumulating. Not only does it close the pores, it also closes the hair cuticle, sealing in moisture from the conditioner that you applied to your beard hair.

Moisturize
Make sure to dry your beard with a towel after the wash. Follow with a good rub down of a beard balm or oil. Always look for fragrance free products and if you prefer scented products make sure all of the ingredients are natural to avoid skin irritation.

Groom
To evenly distribute the oil or balm, use a comb or brush depending on your facial hair length. Make sure to get a trim too from time to time to keep your beard fresh. We know that’s not a problem here in Nairobi as the men and their barbers are inseparable.

Disinfect
Always keep your combs, brushes, towels, scissors, shavers and razors clean to avoid infections.
